Unboxing & Review Eken H9 Ultra Hd 4K Sports Action Camera SJCAM — Aliexpress & Gearbest

In this video I’m going unbox and review the EKEN H9 Ultra HD 4K Action Camera which I bought from gear best for about 45 dollars. But you can buy it from aliexpress, amazon and eBay for about the same price. This is a camera for recording active sports like cycling, swimming and skydiving, and it is basically cheap alternative to the much more expensive go pro cameras.

Let’s get on with the unboxing. About a year ago I reviewed the SJ400 Sports Cam A9, which is a 1080p camera. Except loads of you pointed out that it was actually a fake. So it was a copy of a copy! Now I’m pretty sure that this isn’t actually an SJCAM either. It’s very difficult to tell though because they’re really making these look identical to the SJCAMs. But this one doesn’t even say SJCam on the front. The quality is pretty good so I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

Comes with: The camera, which is extremely light. The waterproof housing, which you need to attach this to a bike, or if you want to go swimming with it. And loads, and loads of accessories for attaching it to various things. In the manual it shows you the different combinations you need to use depending on how you want to use the camera. Other than that, the instructions are minimal. Thankfully, it’s easy to use. It doesn’t come with a memory card and requires a micro SD card.

Now this is a 4k action camera, which means that it’s not just 1080p HD, it’s Ultra HD! Sounds good, and its true, but it will only record 4K at 10fps, which you can see isn’t really enough to get smooth video. But it does record 1080p at 60fps, which makes very, very smooth video. And while it’s probably not the same excellent quality as a genuine GoPro, for a fraction of the cost it is pretty good.

I took this camera to Center Parcs, which is a sort of activity holiday, and I used this camera in a variety of settings. I used the bicycle handlebar attachment and filmed me cycling around. I used it whilst playing badminton. And I used it in the pool. I was extremely happy with the image quality.

It probably recorded about half an hour of footage before the battery ran out. And the battery indictor wasn’t very reliable. It sort of jumped from half way to almost empty. And when charging it, the charging seems to complete quite quickly. Maybe the battery in mine is a bit rubbish — you can buy replacements.
